Tom Theisen

Tom Theisen brings to Iron Horse Farms over 20 years experience in the Arabian Horse Industry. He has shown successfully through the National level in multiple divisions, including English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, and Reining as well as training/coaching numerous National winning amateur combinations. He has an approach with his horses that is non-threatening, yet quite effective. "I like to put a horse in a position that makes it easier for him/her to do things right. The faster you get to that point, the quicker they get a reward, the quicker they'll get to that point the next time around. We all know that horses are creatures of habit, through repetition they can learn to do things correctly or incorrectly. I also believe that, young horses in particular, are always looking for guidance, why not show them how easy it is to just cooperate from the beginning? I also believe that, because they look to us for guidance, it's our responsibility to be fair and not ask for too much too soon. If you have a young horse with talent, let's not rush him and do the job right, I promise it'll be worth the wait!" - Tom
